4 min read

Bonfire Night in Wrexham is nearly here, and with the 5th falling on a Thursday this year, the celebrations run all week long. From big ticketed nights with fairground rides to a free community viewpoint over the city, here's where to watch the skies light up across Wrexham this November.

Wrap up warm, plan your travel and check with organisers before you set off, as times and prices can change.

Thursday 5th November

Hotel Wrexham, Holt

Hotel Wrexham's Bonfire Night is back for its third year and it's set to be the biggest yet. Expect a roaring bonfire, a spectacular fireworks display, a fire engine, a kids zone with face painting, Foxxy Foods, a coffee station and an outdoor bar.

Past years have sold out, so book early.

Chirk AAA

Chirk AAA's annual Bonfire and Fireworks Display is a much loved fixture in the town, with food stalls and family fun on Holyhead Road.

Gresford Athletic FC

Gresford Athletic FC hosts the village's Bonfire Night display at Gresford Memorial Hall.

  • Times: Gates 6pm, fireworks time to be confirmed

  • Tickets: To be confirmed, check with the club before you go

St Mark's Church, Caia Park

For something a little different, St Mark's Church invites you to watch the fireworks over Wrexham from one of the best viewpoints in the city, with a hotdog and hot chocolate in hand.

Friday 6th November

Llay Miners Welfare FC Bonfire and Firework Bonanza

The club calls it Llay's biggest night of the year, and it's easy to see why. Alongside the bonfire and fireworks there's a family disco, funfair, face painting, games, a catering van, ice cream and a pick and mix stall. This year's event is sponsored by Padel Point Wrexham, with money raised supporting the club.

  • Times: Gates 4.30pm, bonfire 6.30pm, fireworks 7pm (approx)

  • Where: Llay Miners Welfare, The Ring, Llay, LL12 0TH

  • Entry: Adults £5, under 16s £2.50, pay on the gate

The Cefn Club, Cefn Mawr

The Cefn Club is hosting its own Bonfire Night celebration for the community in Cefn Mawr.

  • Times: From 7pm, fireworks time to be confirmed

  • Where: The Cefn Club, 12 Ffordd Kayton, Cefn Mawr, LL14 3RB

Sunday 8th November

Wrexham Bonfire and Fireworks Display, Penyllan Farm

Round off Bonfire Night week at one of the most popular displays in North Wales. Penyllan Farm in Marchwiel brings together a roaring bonfire, fireworks, funfair rides, games and plenty of food.

A low noise option

Wrexham Council's Safe Places team usually hosts a silent disco and low noise firework display at Brymbo Sports and Social Complex in mid November. It's a great choice for anyone who finds loud bangs difficult. Last year tickets were £5 per person from the Wellbeing Hub, 31 Chester Street. We'll update this post once 2026 details are confirmed. For more information, email safeplaces@wrexham.gov.uk.

Make a night of it: Ride the Rocket

Just over the county border, Llangollen Railway's Ride the Rocket returns on Saturday 7th November. A steam train leaves Llangollen at 6pm and travels through the Dee Valley to Corwen for the town's fireworks display. Tickets are £28 for adults and £10 for children, and booking ahead is recommended.

Enjoy Bonfire Night safely

Wrexham Council and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service encourage everyone to choose an organised display this year. A few simple things help everyone enjoy the night:

  • Keep children close and follow organisers' instructions

  • Keep pets indoors with curtains closed and the TV or radio on

  • Check bonfire piles for hedgehogs before lighting

  • Plan your travel, as several events have limited or no parking

Make a weekend of it

Coming from further afield? Turn Bonfire Night into a weekend away with a stay, a meal out and a wander around the city centre.
