New Visitor Trail Unites Eight of Wrexham's Leading Attractions

A new visitor trail bringing together eight of Wrexham's most loved and distinctive attractions launches on 1st May, showcasing the very best the county borough has to offer.

Developed by members of This Is Wrecsam, the trail has brought together a diverse mix of heritage, culture, science and natural attractions under a single, family-friendly trail that encourages both residents and tourists to explore, connect and discover Wrexham in a new way.

The trail guides visitors through a journey spanning 314 million years of history, from ancient, fossilised forests and industrial heritage to modern culture, creativity, innovation, science and the future we are building today.

Participating attractions include:

Visitors are encouraged to follow the illustrated trail, explore each site and engage with interactive experiences along the way, collecting stickers at each stop to enhance the journey.

The project has been made possible through This Is Wrecsam's membership network and funding secured via its Key Fund Grant from the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund, with This is Wrecsam continuing to support and develop these partnerships to grow Wrexham’s visitor offer.

A spokesperson for the partnership said:

"This trail is a great example of what's possible when attractions come together through a shared interest, passion and vision. Each of these sites is brilliant in its own right — together, they tell a far bigger story about Wrexham.

"The Key Fund contribution helped turn the idea into something tangible, supporting the design, illustrated trail, stickers and promotion. But the real value is in the network itself — our role is to help attractions work together rather than in isolation.

"With Wrecsam launching its bid to become UK City of Culture 2029, this is an ideal time to showcase the fantastic range of attractions across the county borough. This collaboration highlights what Wrexham does best — bringing people, places and experiences together to shine a light on everything the area has to offer."

Cllr Nigel Williams, lead member for Economy, Business and Tourism at Wrexham County Borough Council added:

“This is Wrecsam, Wrexham’s official destination partnership, is not council-led, but it is council-supported - gives the members freedom to collaborate and focus on improving customer experiences. I’m thrilled to see the Visitor Attractions sub-group taking the initiative and launching this Trail. It is a fresh way to showcase the variety of visitor attraction experiences available across Wrexham County and their interconnected stories. Wrexham has a lot to offer for people who live locally and those who are visiting to explore.”

From 1st May, maps will be available across participating sites and at Wrexham Visitor Information Centre, as well as online.
