Christmas in Wrexham
Christmas in Wrexham 2026: the lights switch-on, Christmas at Erddig and Chirk Castle, makers markets, pantomimes, carols by candlelight and festive nights out.

Chirk Castle near Wrexham
Christmas in Wrexham starts with the lights switch-on on Saturday 14 November 2026 and runs right through to New Year, with two National Trust houses dressed for the season, pantomimes in town and out in the villages, carols by candlelight in St Giles' Church and plenty of festive food and party nights from our members.
THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON
The city centre lights go on on Saturday 14 November. Live entertainment starts in Queens Square at 11am, the lights are switched on at about 4.30pm, and the Christmas Parade then makes its way through the city centre to Eagles Meadow for an evening of entertainment. Details are on Wrexham Council's website.
The same evening, the Nightingale Lantern Procession follows the switch-on: decorate a lantern from 2pm, then join a one-mile glowing walk through the city centre in aid of Nightingale House Hospice. Children register for £6 and adults go free.
