Wrexham café trail

A café trail round Wrexham: independent coffee shops and brunch spots in the city centre, then cafés in a hospice garden, a country park, a farm and Chirk.

Bank St Social coffee shop on Bank Street, Wrexham

Wrexham’s independent cafés are some of the friendliest places in the city, and several give something back to the community too. This trail takes you round the best of them, starting with a walk through the city centre and then out to cafés in country parks, a hospice garden and a farm. Every café here is a This is Wrecsam member.

A CITY CENTRE CAFÉ WALK

These cafés are all within a short walk of each other, so you can link them up in a morning.

  • Bank St Social on Bank Street: silky flat whites since 2017, sourdough toasties and a famous banana bread. Look out for the chalkboard outside with its pun of the day.

  • Lot 11 Cafe on Hill Street: an Aussie style brunch bar with a colourful take on breakfast and lunch, kid friendly and dog friendly.

  • Tabernacl on Hope Street: exceptional coffee and house baked treats in the restored former Burton building, run with Hope Street Church to support the local community.

  • La Baguette on Regent Street: a family run sandwich shop for freshly made baguettes to take away.

  • Reggie’s Artisan Kitchen & Bistro on Chester Street: a family run bistro serving breakfast, brunch and lunch all day.

Tŷ Pawb’s food court is a good stop in between: see Tŷ Pawb.

JUST OUTSIDE THE CENTRE

  • Seth’s Coffee at Croesnewydd Hall, about a mile west of the city centre: a calm spot for coffee and food in a beautiful old hall, opened in May 2026.

  • Caffi Cwtch at Nightingale House Hospice on Chester Road: award winning coffee and seasonal menus from an in-house chef, served by a largely volunteer team. Every visit helps fund care for local patients and families.

CAFÉS FOR A DAY OUT

  • Caffi Cyfle at Alyn Waters Country Park in Gwersyllt: a community café whose name means “Café of Opportunity”. Every coffee and cake helps create work and training for local people. Pair it with a walk round the park.

  • Rackery Farm Shop on the Straight Mile in Llay: a busy farm café with a shop full of local food.

  • Caffi Wylfa on Castle Road in Chirk: artisan coffee and homemade treats, with a covered terrace where dogs are welcome. A good stop on the way to Chirk Castle or the canal.
